About The Basil Experience

The Basil Experience was created from my own lived experience, love, and a deep understanding of what families truly need.

As a single mom raising a child with a disability, I have learned to understand the world differently. The everyday stresses of parenting, working, and managing a household can quickly become overwhelming. I know firsthand how heavy that responsibility can feel, and how little time parents are left with for themselves and the people they love most.

Through this journey, I realized how powerful it is when someone steps in with genuine care and support. That realization is what led me to create The Basil Experience, a service designed to help everyday parents reclaim their time, reduce stress, and feel supported in their daily lives.

I have always had a passion for organizing and creating calm, functional spaces where people can breathe and feel at ease. But The Basil Experience goes far beyond organizing.

I offer full lifestyle support, including home organization, household management, personal assisting, grocery shopping, running errands, and helping with the tasks that often fall to the bottom of an already full list.

I have taken care of children since I was young, and I deeply understand the value of allowing parents to step away whether that means enjoying a date night, taking a break, or simply having peace of mind knowing their home and family are in capable, trusted hands.

There is no task too big or too simple that I cannot achieve. I am your go-to for all lifestyle needs, here to help life run more smoothly so you can come home, relax, and be fully present with the ones you love.

The Basil Experience exists to bring calm to chaos, support to families, and balance back into everyday life.

About me

Cheryl Scorza

In my early 20s, I worked as a nanny, where I discovered my deep love for children and for managing a household. I thrived on creating structure, calm, and a sense of home. I chose not to take the traditional college route at first because I wasn’t sure where I fit, but life had its own plans. At 27, I became a mother to a son who was born blind, a life-changing experience that reshaped my world and strengthened my resilience, patience, and compassion.

I eventually returned to school and proudly completed my associate’s degree at 39, proving to myself that it’s never too late to grow. I went on to work as a nursing assistant at our local hospital, where I cared for people from every walk of life during some of their most vulnerable moments. Through every chapter, nanny, mother, student, CNA, I’ve always been a caregiver at heart. I’ve also always loved organizing and transforming spaces, making them feel fresh, functional, and welcoming. Caring for people and the spaces they live in isn’t just what I do. It’s who I am.
